Happy New Year!

Brethren,
The new year is upon us, and I hope you all had a great and safe holiday season. It warmed my heart to see those that came to the Christmas get together with their families and enjoy the refreshments of the Lodge. That day was the definition of the Masonic family we strive to have and continue to nurture. I hope that energy will continue into this year and strengthen the bonds of our Lodge, just like those of a beehive. The officers have been working hard to create more events and activities for the brethren to enjoy.
We have many ideas in progress for the masonic year. I recommend everyone go and check out FellowshipLodge5797.com for the announcements and dates on our new website calendar. Brother Kenneth "Kon" Bruce Bayliss has done a fantastic job creating a website where we can access and share our ideas and knowledge.
Wor. Shawn Berry also did an excellent job presenting the "Rule and Line = Merkhet?" his research into working tools gave us a new aspect to the meetings. I will continue that momentum by having a brother presenting or discussing something at every meeting.
This month's meeting, we will have with great honor Brother Jibreel Khazan (born Ezell Blair Jr) speak at the meeting. Brother Khazan is a civil rights activist who is best known as a member of the Greensboro Four, a group of African American college students who, on February 1, 1960, s
at down at a segregated Woolworth’s lunch counter in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina, challenging the store's policy of denying service to non-white customers. The protests and the subsequent events were significant milestones in the Civil Right Movement.
I want to assure you that every event will be as safe as possible; with the rising cases of COVID, the Lodge will have facemasks available for those that need or want one and increase our sanitizing protocols while we have meetings or any activities inside the Lodge building.
Fraternally,
Wor. Bro. Jeremy Manuel Silva
