Scottish Rite Research Society

The Scottish Rite Research Society is a Masonic research society based out of the House of the Temple in Washington DC.
Since its formation in 1991, the Society has become one of the most dynamic forces in contemporary Masonic research, pursuing a publication program that emphasizes quality—both in content and in physical form. The Society has grown to over 4,000 members worldwide since inception. Its publications have redefined the standards of Masonic scholarship.
The two main publications of the Society are the Plumbline a quarterly research journal containing manuscripts on Masonic history, philosophy, esoterica, customs, traditions, current interest commentary, and related subjects; and Heredom an annual hardbound collection of manuscripts focusing on contemporary and historical Freemasonry, emphasizing the Scottish Rite.
